Sustainable Water Management
Water is a critical finite resource and it is absolutely vital that strategies be rolled out to ensure that it is sourced responsibly and with minimal environmental impact, is used efficiently in cities and by the built environment, and that wasteful depletion and wastage is avoided.

Net Positive buildings are structures that create more energy and/or water than they consume, and there are a few examples of such buildings in the region. The EWS Summit will discuss their feasibility and challenges, as well as the design, delivery, and operation of these structures in the Middle East.
From Waste to Resource
The construction industry has a significant impact on the environment globally, accounting for 23% of air pollution, 50% of landfill waste, and 40% of drinking water contamination. The Summit will discuss how construction and demolition waste can be reduced and/or turned into a beneficial alternative resource.
Alternative Building Materials
Construction materials such as concrete, steel, glazing, insulation, finishing materials and others represent millions of tons of embodied carbon. To achieve a Net Zero future, these carbon-heavy materials must be replaced by alternatives that offer similar or better properties but are far more sustainable.
